Introduction - Understanding Our Journey

God created us in His image so we could live in His likeness

In the beginning, in Genesis, when God created man - He created us in His image so that we could live from His likeness - in other words so that we can think, speak and act like him.

As we live according to His image, we can make choices where we CHOOSE LIFE so that we can BE FRUITFUL: fruitful in our relationships with God, ourselves and with others, and fruitful in our health, in our work and finances and in every area of our lives.

Man fell into sin when he was tempted by satan

But unfortunately, man fell into sin when he was tempted by Satan, and so man submitted himself to the serpent's image where now through all the generations, we have learnt to think, speak and act according to the serpent's image. As a result instead of fruitfulness in our relationships, health, finances and work, we have barrenness and sickness

Jesus's death on the cross restored our relationship with God

But thankfully - God in His amazing grace and love - sent His beloved Son - Jesus to die on the cross and pay the price of the death penalty for our sin...so that once again we could be restored in our relationship with Abba Father.  On the cross Jesus destroyed the serpent's image and set us free from the bondage of sin. When we accept the price He paid on our behalf and acknowledge Him as the Son of  God, we are saved.

After salvation we go through a journey of sanctification

Then after salvation - we need to go through a journey of sanctification.  Sanctification basically means getting rid of sin which is the serpent's seed.  We need to study the Word of God and renew our minds SO THAT WE CAN RETURN BACK TO THE FATHER'SIMAGE.

Be constantly transformed into His image...from glory to glory

2 Corinthians 3 v 16-18: "Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, their is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

What does this Scripture means: "From glory to glory we must be molded into His image?"

Well, glory means a manifestation of God's presence and character.

For example, when we remove bitterness and unforgiveness from our lives and we learn to live a lifestyle of forgiveness - we are giving God glory because we are manifesting His character - we have just gone from 'glory to glory' because our character has become like Him.

When we get rid of fear through receiving His perfect love and learn to live in His peace and joy, we have just gone from glory to glory again because we are manifesting even more of His character in our character and have become even more like Him.  As we become more like Him, we make choices where we choose life and can be fruitful once again.

Be careful - the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy!

Jesus said in John 10v10: "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy.  I came that you may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]."

The story of Moses and the Israelites is a fore-shadow or picture that parallels our journey with the Lord.  When the Israelites were in Egypt, that parallels to when we were in the world, its slavery to sin and disease, and in spiritual, psychological and physical bondage

It is interesting that the Egyptian pharaohs at that time wore a serpent on their foreheads in their head dress, symbolizing living and thinking according to the serpent's image.  There are many Scriptures - not just in Genesis, but even in the New Testament such as Luke 10v19, where satan is symbolically referred to as the serpent.

Authority given to us to overcome and be sanctified

Luke 10v19: "Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you."

The Israelites going through the red sea is equivalent to the time of salvation, where the blood of Jesús sets us free from slavery to the devil, and we enter into a love relationship with Abba Father and Jesus.

Scripture says that there was none feeble among them in the desert - in other words there was nobody amongst them that was sick.

Whilst we are in this journey of sanctification where we are renewing our minds, in the process we are getting rid of poisonous mind-sets that cause disease, and so we experience healing.

In the desert, Moses put a snake on the pole which was a prophetic symbol of what Jesus did for us, when He died on the cross and destroyed the serpent's image.

On the cross, Jesus provided for us to have healing and to live in divine health.  Isaiah 53v5 says that "By His Stripes we are healed and made whole."

The wilderness journey for the Israelites in the desert is equivalent to our journey of sanctification - it is the journey renewing our minds with the Word of God which takes us from our previous life of slavery to sin, where we were in spiritual, psychological and physical bondage, back into the Father's image - and into the abundant life that Jesus came to give us, which is symbolized by the Promised Land.

It is a journey...

Before the Israelites could possess the Promised Land, they had to drive out enemy nations - the Canaanites, Amorites, Midianites, Hittites and all the "-ites".  If you translate the names of the enemy tribes, they are basically the name of the 7 main spiritual strongholds that lead to the poisonous mindsets that are the basis of disease!  For example, in order to possess a certain part of the Promised Land, they had to drive out the 'Hittites'.  'Hittites' means fear!

Fear is the basis of over many major so-called incurable disease that we are facing today.  In order for us to experience part of the abundant life Jesus came to give us, which is to live in constant peace and joy, and the health benefits that accompany that, we also have to learn to overcome and drive out fear!

When you learn to overcome a low self-esteem through building a healthy identity in who you are in the Messiah - you have not only gone from glory to glory and become more like Him - but you have inherited even more of the abundant life Jesus came to give you.

When you overcome bitterness and unforgiveness, and learn to life a lifestyle of forgiveness, you have inherited and conquered even more of the Promised Land and so on.

Healing and restoration in spirit, soul and body

And so in the process of overcoming all of these spiritual strongholds and poisonous mind-sets that come from the image of the serpent, and being changed back into the Father's image, we will also be healed of diseases which are caused by them and they are restored in spirit, soul and body to divine health - which is also part of the abundant life that Jesus paid such a high price to give us - that 'by His stripes we may be healed' [Isaiah 53v5].

With that very brief and basic background, when we think - we build memories, by building branches on the nerves of our brain that looks like trees (as you can see in the pictures below, nerves have a trunk and branches just like a tree).  The more that we think on a particular thought, the more branches we build on that memory tree and the stronger that memory becomes.

Nerves in your brain

Poisonous memory trees of death

When we build memories in our brain from thinking according to the image of the serpent, we refer to them as poisonous memory trees of death

Re-activated memories release poisonous chemicals that cause disease

When you meditate on those thoughts again, the hypothalamus in the brain generates a wave of electricity that passes through the pre-existing memories in your brain and reactivates them, bringing those pre-existing thoughts to your conscious mind, as if it happening currently. There is no TIME delay in memories made and release of poisonous chemicals into the body.

For example, if you have grown a poisonous memory in your brain of bitterness, when you think of that person again, all the pre-existing thoughts of anger, resentment and bitterness come to your mind, concerning the wrong that they did to you.

On a poisonous memory - there are spikes. Just like the fangs of a snake.

If poisonous thoughts dominate your thought life, and every time you think those poisonous memories that you have built in your brain according to the image of the serpent, will be reactivated, and they are stimulated to release venom with poisonous chemicals that cause disease

Life giving memory trees of life

But when we renew our minds, through the washing of the water of the Word, we build healthy memory trees of life, that when reactivated by that electro-magnetic wave, cause the release of healthy life-giving chemicals, which bring healing and health to all our flesh exactly as Scripture says!

In summary:

We were made in the image of God, so that we can live from His likeness and make choices where we choose life so that we can be fruitful

The purpose of our life is to know Him which is made possible through the blood of the Lamb as we are reconciled with the Father at salvation. During the time of sanctification, we become like Him.  When we are fruitful, we make Him known as we demonstrate the Father's image through our lives to others.

Jesus came so that we could have and enjoy life!  And so, that we could have life abundantly to the full until it overflows!

The abundant life is:

To Know Him.

To Become Like Him.

To Make Him Known!
